Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to remove staples, paperclips, or elastic bands?
There is no need to remove clips, staples, or elastics. Our heavy-duty shredding equipment can easily cut through light metal such as clips, clasps, and hanging file folders.
Can I keep my cardboard boxes?
Yes, we only shred the contents of your file boxes. You are free to keep your boxes for future use.
How do I know my material has been shredded?
Your sensitive documents are shredded before we leave your home or apartment. You can watch the entire curbside shredding process.
Shredding and the Environment
Paper shredding is a sustainable practice since the shredded paper is fully recycled. A-1 Shredding sends bales of shredded material directly to a pulp mill for processing. This reduces landfill and conserves natural resources by recycling shredded material into new paper products.
